Ten specialist libraries in Vratsa successfully completed advanced training in Area 3 of the training component of the “Glob@l libraries” – Services in modern library. Librarians have acquired knowledge and skills to implement new services in modern library, new techniques for working with users, reference and information services, electronic resources and services with local content, e-education, e-health, e-government and service target groups. The training was Gennady Bogdanov – librarian in the “Reference – bibliographic information service” in Regional library “Hristo Botev”.
More than 70 people packed the hall of the Regional library “Hristo Botev” in Vratsa for the premiere of the new book of the writer Vladimir Zarev, who is also a jury in literary reality BNT “Manuscript.” After the image of modernity in “Worlds” and “Ruin” the author carry us of “Eagle bridge” in shattering memories of protests in february 2013. On October 15, 2015 in the renovated hall of the Children’s department of the Regional library “Hristo Botev” was the closing event information to complete the project “Volunteer – foster child.” The project team presented the benefits and results of the project activities. Library Director Mrs. Silvia Vrachovska thanked the volunteers for the summer working with children and gave them certificates of participation in the project.
Project “Volunteer – foster child” is implemented by the Regional library “Hristo Botev” – Vratsa in partnership with the “Association for development of children and young people in the town of Vratsa” in the period july – october 2015.
Foundation “Global libraries – Bulgaria” project finance / 1999 leva / after winning a competition for small projects “Library – the center of the local community,” Theme 1 – “Access to information, public participation, volunteering”, under contract RD-00-249/08.12.2014, between the Ministry of culture and the “Global libraries – Bulgaria”.
The main objective of the project is to strengthen the position of Regional library as an active participant in public life and leading cultural – educational center of Vratsa.
The target groups of the project are:
• Young people aged 15 to 29 years, motivated to volunteer in the library. For the period from july to october attracted 22 volunteers. Volunteers develop new knowledge, skills and competencies to work with children and teamwork.
• Children aged between 3 and 10 years. In our Summer academy was attended by 1291 children, of whom organized by five kindergartens and others visited the library thanks to good information campaign conducted by the project team. Library digest children’s free time free.
• Parents, teachers and educators were our potential users. For them, the project activities were new, different and interesting activities for rationalization of the holiday of children and students. Participation in summer reading increase the motivation of children to reading at an early age.
“Summer children’s academy” was held in developed program: every tuesday Art workshops “To work together” in the Children’s department and a subsidiary “Dabnika” library; Summer reading room every Wednesday in EVK “St. S. Vratchanski”, every thursday working with educational sites “Play and learn” in a computer lab at RB. Initiatives for period 15 july – 15 september 2015.
Promoting reading of the early childhood held 9 Summer reading rooms at the Ethnographic Complex in the new park j.k. Dabnika with children from kindergarten “EVROPEYCHETA” kindergarten “SORCERESS”, kindergarten “RAINBOW”, kindergarten “SUN”, kindergarten “BANNER OF PEACE” and CHILDREN’S HOUSE ENGLISH “MARY POPPINS”. The guests were interesting and different professions – Director of the Regional library, experts from Vratsa, the RIEof MES, an inspector in the Criminal police – Vratsa, Honorary Consul of the Republic of Congo.
Input and inclusion of children in the world of art in the project activities took place 7 Art workshops are called “To work together”. Volunteers showed the children and teach them to learn art techniques quilling and pyrography.
In the computer room of the Regional Library held 8 workshops for children from 5 to 7 years, called “Play and learn”. Volunteers acquainted children with educational sites and work with application software “CIFRENKA” and “BUKVENKA” approved by the Ministry of Education, through which small letters and learn arithmetic with drawings of hunting and dancing letters and numbers.
On 1 october Regional Library “Hristo Botev” officially opened “Room of fairy tales”. Renovated and refurbished room is located in the children’s department and a separate children from 0 to 6 years. The opening was attended by dozens of guests, among whom were the director of the Regional inspectorate of education Galina Evdenova, experts, educators from kindergarten and kids from kindergarten “Evropeycheta”. The project room of fairy tales was developed in June and submitted to the Ministry of labour and social policy – Fund “Working conditions”. Funding in the amount of 2013 leva was mainly for replacement of flooring. To create fabulous room library received support from Mrs. Theodora Ignatova – Honorary Consul of Bulgaria in the Democratic Republic of Congo. It provides modern furnishings, toys and assist in repairs.
Room talk was lit by Father Asparuh, who gave Bible for children.
Special guests from Kindergarten “Evropeycheta” gave music program received a library card readers and Reader meter provided by the Goethe Institute – Sofia.
The team library thanked: Ministry of labour and social policy – Fund “Working conditions”, Mrs. Theodora Ignatova – Honorary Consul of Bulgaria in the Democratic Republic of Congo, the Goethe Institute – Sofia, BKC – Vratsa, artist Yavor Venchev, Father Asparuh, children, parents and staff of the kindergarten “Evropeycheta” and all the friends who helped to make the children’s department in a beautiful and a favorite place for the children of Vratsa.
Regional Information Centre distinguish Vratsa Regional Library “Hristo Botev” as national winners in the “Celebrating 25 years INTERREG TOGETHER”.
Library competes with a number of projects included in the EU programs for European territorial cooperation in Bulgaria. All projects deserve accolades, but as in every race there and he was a finalist project “Cross-border center for information and communication Dolj – Vratsa” implemented by Regional Library as a partner in the program of cross-border cooperation between Romania and Bulgaria. Together with the Dolj County – leading partner Regional Library “Alexander and Aristarchus Amman” in the city of Craiova and Vratsa District Administration.
In subsidiary j.k. Dabnika Regional Library – Vratsa, 23 scholars from class III, the school “N. Voyvodov “. with class teacher Natasha Valyovska held an open lesson on “September 21 – International day of peace”. Library specialist Victoria Ivanova familiarize children the history of the celebration. From ancient hellenic tradition scholars learned why the dove was proclaimed a symbol of peace. Was prepared dramatization “Four flame”, each child read a personal message of peace. The children tried to “draw” in peace – with inspiration sang the song “Picture of Peace”. The finale was the song “Children planet”.
From 10 to 13 June 2015 specialists from Regional library “Hristo Botev”, Vratsa participated in the Second International conference “Politics. Diplomacy. Culture”, organized in The „ Alexandru & Aristia Aman” Public library county Dolj, Romania. Library employees from Regional library presented two presentations with main topics “Cultural-historical heritage in Vratsa district – a successful investment for European and World heritage” and “Digital collection “Homeland” – storing and popularization of traditional folklore culture”.
The conference was separated in four sections, in which were introduced presentations, reports, and reviews of different spheres: political sciences, international relations, culture science, history, economics, European science, philosophy, archeology, cultural heritage, diplomacy, law science, sociology, education, religion and church history, media, library-information sciences and communications.
In the conference participated academics, professors, researchers, students and librarians from Romania, Bulgaria, Moldova, Greece, USA, Canada. The official languages were english and romanian and the reports of the participants will be published in anniversary repertory.
The event was conducted in partnership with “Alexandru & Aristia Aman” foundation, Romanian Academy of Sciences, The Institute of social sciences, Academy of Romanian students and researchers and The University of Craiova – Department for social sciences in Juridical and Social faculty.
On 25 and 26 May 2015 was conducted work meeting No 8, organized by Regional library “Hristo Botev” as a part of „Cross-Border Center for Information and Communication Dolj – Vratsa “ project 2(4i)-1.2-6 и MIS-ETC Code 666, “Cross-border cooperation programme Romania-Bulgaria 2007-2013”.
In the event attended partners from Dolj County Council – Krayova, Rоmania, The „Alexandru & Aristia Aman” Public library County Dolj, Regional library „Hristo Botev” and Vratsa District administration. During the visit was discussed the progress of the project, planned activities of the partners and possible information solutions according the methods of digitalization in the both project-partner libraries. The methods for associate cooperation between Dolj County Council, Vratsa District administration, The „ Alexandru & Aristia Aman” Public library county Dolj and Regional library “Hristo Botev”, Vratsa were clarified in some video-conference connections regarding processes, connected to education, culture, business, ecology and rapprochement between both border regions.
The partners in the project „Cross-Border Center for Information and Communication Dolj – Vratsa” expressed willingness to develop their work on cooperated projects, included in Operational program for interregional association Interreg Rumania-Bulgaria 2014-2020.
As part of National library week Regional library “Hristo Botev” and publishing house “Ciela” organized for the citizens of Vratsa a meeting with the writer, poet and scriptwriter Kalin Terziiski.
A unique and very different meeting…different, because Kalin Terziiski introduced himself alone. After some brief biography details, the author leaded alone the whole program of the meeting and plunged the guests into his world. Freedomwilling and talkative, serious and comic, he presented his life – before and now, exposed some part of the motives and ways of creation of his novels and stories.
According to the writer-psychiatrist the things have to be named with their true names, not just with mock modesty, imputed to us trough the years. The friends of the library passed experienced a unforgettable evening with one more different writer.
Regional library organized regional round table with topic – “Libraries – attractive centers for lifelong learning” on 14.05.2015, 10:30 am at conference hall in Vratsa Municipality.
Participants in the event were: representatives of Regional administration, Vratsa Municipality, Bulgarian Library and Information Association (BLIA), Innovative Community Centres Association, librarians and partners of the Library, connected to National strategy for lifelong learning. This initiative is a part of the program of Regional Library, with which the library participates in National library week (11-15 May 2015).
The week is a part of the project of Bulgarian Library and Information Association – ““ Libraries – attractive centers for lifelong learning”, won by program Public Libraries 2020. Advocacy campaign of BLIA is conducted by “America for Bulgaria” and “Global Libraries” foundations and will be presented under the patronage of National Commission for UNESCO – Bulgaria. Mrs. Mitonka Cherveniashka – Regional coordinator of National strategy for whole time learning informed the participants about the main topics in the strategy.
All of the partners in the meeting discussed the possibilities for educational programs for adults.
Mrs. Irina Ivanova – Deputy Governor of Vratsa district , Eng. Geori Petrov – Chairman of Innovative Community Centres Association and Antoaneta Dimitrova – Representative of BLIA prized the winners in regional competition “ The best library and librarian in Vratsa district for 2014”. Nominated are 5 libraries and 3 librarians.
Best Library in Vratsa region of 2014 is the library with the community center “N.Y.Vaptsarov” – town of Krivodol. Best librarian in Vratsa District 2014 is the Valentina Mladenova Boboycheva – Chief Librarian in library of town Byala Slatina.
“Night in the library“ became an exciting and unforgettable event for the citizens of Vratsa city. The event was organized by Regional Library “Hristo Botev”.
Hundreds of friends and admirers of literature and arts participated into the initiative, organized for them: literature reading, a game “ By which book is written the movie!?”, exchange of books; enjoyed the “live performance” of young talents of Vratsa city.
