Пощенски картички уникати
Репортаж за изложбата на ретро коледни картички, организирана от Регионална библиотека „Христо Ботев” – Враца провокира дарителския жест. От БНТ д-р Пламен Вълков научава за колекцията от стари картички на отдел „Краезнание” и решава да дари семейна сбирка от коледни и новогодишни картички, картички с изгледи от цяла България за периода от преди 1944 г. и картички с изгледи от различни кътчета на света. Голяма част от тях са адресирани до неговия баща – Кръстю Вълков, който от 1959 г. до 1969 г. е бил генерален директор на ДСО „Български тютюни – Булгартабак”.
„Всички коледни картички са от този период – лично към него от президентите на големи фирми по света. Питате защо ви ги подарявам. Колекционерите са странни люде – търсят нещо уникално, красиво и естетично, без да осъзнават, че тези качества добиват смисъл само ако са оценени и от други хора, а не да седят заключени в шкаф. Освен това оценявам вашата инициатива да създадете сбирка, която може да се види от повече хора” – коментира своето решение да изпрати сбирката във Враца дарителят.
И за да бъдат видени от повече хора изключително красивите, някои от които ръчно изработени картички, библиотеката ще организира Коледната изложба в края на годината. Така една хубава инициативата ще прерасне в традиционна. Документите ще влязат и в Дигиталната библиотека на институцията като част от колекция „Пощенски картички”.
100 years of participation in the Vratsa region in First world war
On 19 November at the Regional library “Hristo Botev” was held knowledge of the region Twelfth regional conference entitled “100 years of participation of Vratsa region in First world war 1915-1918” organized by the Regional library and the Regional Inspectorate of Education. The forum was opened by Silvia Vrachovska – director of the library and Mitonka Chervenyashka – Head, Regional Inspectorate of Education. Among the guests were Irina Ivanova – Deputy Governor, Radoslav Bozhinov – Chairman of the Committee for the celebration of 100 years of participation in the Vratsa region in First world war, Radosveta Krumova – Head of “Culture” in Vratsa municipality and heirs and relatives of heroes participated in memorial events.
In two sessions involved a total of 32 researchers – historians, teachers, researchers, homeland, military and scholars from different institutions and settlements in the region with 19 developments and research reports. Thematic highlights were the Dobrich epic and heroism of “Vrachantsi” and “Kozloduitsi” in the memory of generations. First they told family memories and opened centennial album, preserved images of the characters, a little-known documents from the collections of museums in Oryahovo and Vratsa, Regional state archives and library. The organizers shared their intention to issue a compendium of the reports and documents included in the newly created digital library Regional Library “Hristo Botev “- so they will reach a wide range of readers in their authentic form.

Which are the oldest buildings in Vratsa? What are built two towers? There you have it is to watch one of them during the Liberation War? What are their names and what they mean? The answers to these and a dozen more questions about one of the symbols of the city were small researchers from school “Ivancho Mladenov” during his knowledge of the region with homeland walk from Regional library Kalina Todorova and Merry Pelova of State archives.
Poetic night with Orpheus Petkov
On November 11 in the Reading room of the Regional library “Hristo Botev” our compatriot Orpheus Petkov costs us in his “house of words”, presenting our eleventh book of poetry “Late poetry”. This “house” made the visit friends of the poet to his beloved woman in the field, in the cold city, in the woods. Orpheus Petkov wanted when I left the house, his guests to be richer! Richer in words and emotions, because only this will mean that everyone was well within her. “If indeed it was so, after a while you yourself will want to return again” – said the author.
The magic of old books
Scholars of III-b grade of School “Ivancho Mladenov” headed by Sonia Elenkova in another occupation under the “Homeland” Regional Library “Hristo Botev” touched the literary heritage of the department “Local history”. Children had the opportunity to consider antiquarian, rare and valuable books and to follow the path of the book over the centuries. During this school year the young researchers of the homeland in a series of interactive lessons will touch their favorite books and games grandmother and grandfather to the holidays and love from their childhood, the symbols and landmarks of the Vratsa and region.
Old Vratsa
The first walk knowledge of the region for this year was attended by high school seniors “Kozma Trichkov” led by Svetla Dimitrova. Young homeland participated in the “Heritage” with interest “walked” on the road of old Vratsa. The archive department “Local history” revealed secrets of the past, locked in old photos, family albums, postcards from a century ago. Scolars touched the authentic documents had the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the digital collections of the Regional library “Hristo Botev” and themselves to find materials interesting and favorite them for natural and cultural attractions. The event is part of the training program of the Department “Local history” – “Homeland” in which for the sixth consecutive year in an unconventional and fun way to provide young interesting beliefs, rituals and customs, landmark events and personalities associated with the Vratsa region.
Campaign dedicated to the Day of national leaders
On November 2, 2015 launched a campaign of the Regional library “Hristo Botev”, dedicated to the Day of national leaders. Most eager to get cards and readers to explore the renovated Children’s department were children from Kindergarten “Joy” – a group of “Little Prince”.
The kids worked book dedicated to the spiritual leader of Bulgaria and gave the library Poster made on the Day of national leaders. All children received a card reader and certificate for participation in the initiative.
1000 reasons to be proud that we are Bulgarians
On October 30 in the Reading room of the Regional library was held the traditional regional competition dedicated on November 1 – the Day of national leaders: “1000 reasons to be proud that we are Bulgarians”, organized by RIO – Vratsa and Regional library “Hristo Botev” – Vratsa.
In the sixth edition of the regional competition for scholars from grades 5-8 participated four teams from:
High School “Vasil Kanchov” – Vratsa
School “Hristo Botev” – village Banica
School “St. St. Cyril and Methodius” – village Devene
School „Vasi Levski” – Vratsa
For another year, the participants showed emotional involvement, exceptional motivation and presented with wonderful examples of bulgarian spirit presence in world culture, science and art.
After a serious and close race jury: Rumyana Tsvetkova – expert at the Regional Inspectorate on Education – Vratsa, Petia Nikolaeva – expert at the Regional Inspectorate on Education – Vratsa and Merry Pelova – State Archives – Vratsa awarded first place scholars of the High school “Vasil Kanchov “- Vratsa and three second places for the scholars of the School” Hristo Botev” village Banica, “St.St. Cyril and Methodius” village Devene and School” Vasil Levski – Vratsa.
Training on “Advocacy and project management”
On October 30, 2015 in Regional library “Hristo Botev” – Vratsa finished training “Advocacy and project management” – eleven librarians from Vratsa acquainted with the themes: “Advocacy”, “Volunteering” and “Project management” useful, fun and interesting supported by trainer Mrs. Radosveta Krumova – head of “Culture, heritage and tourism” in the Municipality of Vratsa.
The training was organized and financed by the “Glob@l libraries – Bulgaria” and the Regional library “Hristo Botev”.
