On 19 and 20 June 2014 library specialists from the Regional Library “Hristo Botev” visited the Romanian town of Craiova, which participated in the workshop on Project 2 (4i) -1.2-6, MIS-ETC code 666 “Cross-border Centre for Information and communication Dolj Vratsa. ” The meeting was attended by partners from the Romanian side Region Dolj – leading partner Regional Library “Alexander and Aristarchus Amman” in the city of Craiova and Regional Library “Hristo Botev”. During the working visit beobsaden progress of the project, planned activities of partners and options on how the two communities to learn about each other with life and culture of the population of both countries. Were discussed and initiatives related to the digitization of rare and valuable books and periodicals. It was explained and the future construction of a common internet portal in which the two largest public libraries in the border areas – Vratsa and Dolj will be provided free to consumers digitally wealth of collections of both libraries. In the final consultations during the second day of the meeting, colleagues from the Regional Library “Amman” presented an electronic catalog of the library, covering library information for more than 30 libraries in the county of Dolj, user sessions, history of taking literature about available library resources, service information transmitted electronically between library “Haman” and 30 libraries in Dolj county.
Within the two-day trip library specialists visited the Museum “Oltenia – Terra fossilis”, with exposures of reconstruction of a giant mammoth skeleton discovered in 1928, exposure of flora and fauna of Dolj County, cave and museum collections found along Danube. During his visit to the museum was visited section “journey into space”, which enjoys great interest in the arrangement of the planets and satellites mock Moonwalker, spacesuits and interactive cinema hall for educational activities and screenings of thematic films in astronomy.
